Call on Canvas is an annual archdiocesan art competition that invites young people to proclaim the Good News through creative expression. More than a competition, it is a formation journey that engages participants in reflecting on Scripture, discerning God’s call, and expressing that insight through art.

Open to young and emerging artists across Trinidad and Tobago, Call on Canvas creates space for the development of Christian imagination—helping participants see their lives, gifts, and experiences through the lens of faith. Through guided workshops, reflection, and public exhibition, the competition forms young people not only to create, but to witness.

Each year, selected works are showcased as acts of proclamation—offering visual testimonies of faith, hope, and God’s presence in everyday life.

2026 Theme

The 2026 theme, “Proclaim His Goodness,” invites participants to reflect deeply on how God’s goodness is revealed in Scripture, in the lives of others, and in their own personal experiences. Artists are challenged to move beyond simply illustrating religious ideas, and instead to communicate a clear message of faith through their work.

      • What has God done that must be proclaimed?

      • Where is His goodness visible, even in struggle?

Through this theme, participants are encouraged to discern, interpret, and express the Good News using their creative gifts, transforming art into an act of witness that speaks to both the Church and the wider community.
