Volunteering in Youth Ministry
We are excited to invite individuals who are passionate about youth ministry to volunteer in the parish, archdiocesan group or with the Office of Youth Ministry. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to assist in the evangelization, formation and missioning of young people as we deliver programs and initiatives aimed at fostering the spiritual growth and engagement of young people across the Archdiocese.
As essential as volunteers are in every ministry, we ask you to discern your role in the lives of youth before agreeing to participate as a leader or volunteer. The word we use in volunteering but the action you take are fulfillment of your own vocation and a call to serve God through ministry with, to and for youth.
Eligibility for Volunteering:
- Volunteers should be committed to the values of the Catholic Church and youth ministry.
- Volunteers should be able to schedule their availability, communicate their participation graciously and follow through when with their commitment
- Volunteers should make themselves available for the prerequisite training and formation to become effective in their roles.
- Volunteers can be any age. For adolescents (11-17 years) you will require parental permission.
The Archdiocese of Port of Spain requires all persons working with minors to attend, at least the VIRTUS training offered by the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission.
Please contact the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission: familylife@catholictt.org
