Youth Alpha is a global, interactive program designed to introduce young people to the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed and engaging way. Aimed primarily at teens and young adults, Youth Alpha provides a space where young people can ask questions, explore life’s big issues, and discuss faith in an open and welcoming environment. The program is based on the original Alpha course, which was developed by the Anglican Church in London in the 1990s, and has since expanded worldwide to reach millions of people. It has been approved by the Vatican for use in Catholic Churches and was adopted for use in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain in 2007.

Key Features of Youth Alpha:

1. Engaging Content: Youth Alpha includes a series of short, engaging videos that explore the basics of Christianity. Topics cover essential aspects of the faith, such as “Who is Jesus?”, “Why did Jesus die?”, “How can we have faith?”, and “Why and how do I pray?” These videos are designed to be visually appealing and thought-provoking, making complex spiritual concepts accessible to a younger audience.

2. Small Group Discussions: After watching the videos, participants break into small groups where they can discuss the themes, ask questions, and share their thoughts in a safe, non-judgmental environment. This allows young people to explore faith and make it personal, helping them build a deeper connection with God.

3. No Pressure, No Judgment: Youth Alpha is a welcoming, inclusive space where young people are encouraged to explore their faith at their own pace. There is no pressure to believe or conform—just an invitation to come as they are and ask any questions they may have about God, life, and the Church.

4. Building Community: Through Youth Alpha, young people connect with others who are on a similar journey of faith. It provides an opportunity for friendships to form, creating a supportive and vibrant Christian community where participants can grow together in their faith.
